Over the years, there have been two camps that become more vocal this time of year: Those who make New Year’s Resolutions, and those who don’t. Even way back in ancient Rome, where at the beginning of each year, the Romans made promises to the god Janus, for whom the month of January is named. I don’t take it that seriously, but I’ve been known to make a few, and break them by say, March? (“Thou doth profess to lose 1 cubit of fat by year end!”). In the wonderful world of voice over, it’s hard to keep certain resolutions, as there are many factors in which we have absolutely no control over. How many jobs we’ll book from agencies or P2Ps? How many times a client that we’ve acquired from our own efforts will hire us? For this reason, I have decided to make the following resolutions:
1) To NOT go on a fad diet.
2) Provide my clients with quality recordings and superior service, whether it’s a $200 job, or a $200,000 job (yeah, I put it out there!), and
3) To be true to myself and my business.
