Fellow Voicers – I had a super awesome time chatting with our fellow student, Denise Thistlewaite.  Wow! Denise is one multi-talented lady.  She had always a love of reading starting in her childhood.  It grew into a serious curiosity that perhaps someday she could be that voice on audiobooks. She has lent her voice to many pro bono projects for her employer, the Clark County School District, where she has voiced several tutorials. In May 2016 Denise attended her first class at TVAS.  That began her voice over adventure.  Denise attended many On-Going Workshops and several Specialty classes including Audiobooks, eLearning, and the Marketing Class given by Troy Moats. Recently she attended The Phone Patch Role-Play, Prepare for the Expected and Unexpected workshop where she says, “I learned so many useful tidbits and the scenarios that we were given truly kept us on our toes”.  Denise felt honored to be directed by Steve Pogatch, Sr. Audio Producer at Pandora and Melissa Moats at another Specialty Class she recently attended.  The genres she excels in is commercial and eLearning.  Improv and Promo are just two of the genres Denise is looking forward to delving into next.  Denise says her absolute dream job would be voicing for the Wells Cosmetic Company.  She says “I feel so blessed to be a part of The Voice Actors’ Studio family! I’m the perfect example of how someone with little experience but BIG dreams can become a voiceover actor.  With hard work, perseverance and a supportive group of wonderful coaches and VO community behind me, anything is possible.”  When I asked her what we would find unique about Denise she shared that when she was in college, she transcribed undercover tapes for sting operations for the ATF.  Fascinating! Denise, thank you for sharing with us and for your time! Please visit her website at: https://www.denisethistlewaite.com and contact her at: voice.thistle@gmail.com.
