Andrea Balsa is a fascinating young woman who is setting the world on fire with her outstanding talent in bilingual voice over. The day I interviewed Andrea, I was sitting in my home in Las Vegas, NV and she was sitting in her room…in Poland! Yes, Poland, doing a huge voiceover project. She was hired to do a job for a big U.S. department store, and had to hunt for a studio to record the project in Poland. That’s just one of the projects Andrea is currently working on.

All this talent was inside a little girl growing up in Mexico City who was fascinated with voices and radio. In 2004, Andrea moved to Las Vegas after she married. She soon started working at Univision as a reporter, advancing to producer and then becoming a news anchor.

She then started working for the Venetian Hotel and Casino in the communications department where she was responsible for English and Spanish translation for orientations and in-house corporate memorandum for 11,000 employees. Although Andrea is immensely grateful for the amazing experience she acquired at both Univision and the Venetian, she found that these fields just did not fulfill her.

She then experienced some serious medical issues, causing her to take some time off. It was during this time that she found TVAS’s Intro to Voice Over Class offered through UNLV.

Andrea feels that finding Melissa Moats and TVAS gave her a brand-new beginning and a start to a whole new life. She is so grateful that Melissa recognized her potential and has been guiding her every step of the way. Andrea feels that TVAS provided the opportunity to finally work for herself, not having to lend her voice to others.

Andrea hit the marketing road head-on, jumping on a plane and flying to Los Angeles, knocking on doors, and talking to everyone. Her voice over journey is running at full speed and all Andrea’s determination and hard work has paid off.

This past June, Andrea was signed with the CESD Talent Agency. Here are links to two of commercials that she voiced and wanted to share:

Andrea sees her future in voice over as bright and exciting. Heck, it’s already taken her to the other side of the world!

Andrea is also training to become a yoga teacher and practices what she learns in her everyday life. And while living in Mexico, Andrea was an assistant dolphin trainer!

Thank you, Andrea! It was such a pleasure connecting with you.
