Reading to Music with Shelley Avellino
Dates: Friday, January 3rd, 6:30-9:30pm | Cost: $89
As humans, we often overlook how important and impactful music really is. It can change our mood nearly in an instant… It can get you excited, take you back in time or make you feel calm and relaxed. What’s more amazing though, is the role it plays in the emotions that shape our lives. There’s always that one song or tune that, when we listen to it, takes us back to the moment we first heard it and we can literally re-live the memory, or remember precisely how it made us feel. It can also change how we perceive certain things (like movies, videos etc…) depending on the “background” music that’s being paired with the visuals we see.
Well, in Voiceover, it’s no different. Music plays a huge part in our voice acting journey, and this class will help you hear… right before your ears… how it can magically influence different performance decisions while you are reading copy. Hearing music has a profound effect on our bodies and, in turn, that affects our voices. So, get ready to read various scripts to different types of music and learn how our bodies, emotions and our voices change to fit the mood of the tunes we are listening to. Oh, and did we mention it’ll be a ton of fun?!
Join Shelley Avellino for this one-of-a-kind workshop and hear how the power of music can help you achieve the right tone, mood, attitude and emotion for your copy. We may even get to dance while we are at it…yep, you heard that right!!
