She’s ba-ack! Join Sara for a special two-day animation workshop focusing on the ins and outs of voice acting for cartoons!
We’re so thrilled she found time in her busy schedule to travel to Las Vegas to be a special guest coach at TVAS! Sara is an Emmy Nominated casting director, dialogue director and voiceover coach. She is currently working on LOONEY TUNES CARTOONS and ANIMANIACS for Warner Bros Animation as well as two shorts and one new series for Cartoon Network. She is also responsible for directing the US talent for 101 DALMATIAN STREET for Disney UK.
Before that, she was Jon Stewart’s Head of Casting for his animated project with HBO. However, the majority of her casting career was at Disney Television Animation, where she spent 12 years. She has worked on such hit shows as BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES, TANGLED EVER AFTER, MILO MURPHY’S LAW, PHINEAS AND FERB, GRAVITY FALLS, and STAR VS THE FORCES OF EVIL. Her credits also include MICKEY MOUSE CLUBHOUSE, YIN, YANG, YO, FISH HOOKS, CLUB PENGUIN, WANDER OVER YONDER, SUPER ROBOT MONKEY TEAM HYPERFORCE GO!, and many, many pilots.
Voicers will practice:
• Day 1 – Cold Reading – Are your auditions competitive? You will receive individualized feedback as Voicers perform one piece of animation copy given out at the start of class. You’ll receive an in-depth lesson on how to make your animation auditions stand out! Sara will then assign you a new animation audition script to take home to prepare for day 2!
• Day 2 – Prepared Reading Audition Round- Putting the first day’s lessons into practice, we’ll then focus on creating a dynamic performance, adding the physicality and most importantly – finding the funny!
• Table Read – Yay! You booked the job, so now what? Voicers will take part in an animation table reading to get an idea of how an ensemble recording session works.
• Casting A Pilot – We’ll take an in-depth look at how a pilot is cast, allowing Voicers to be the casting director and give peer feedback.
