Hey Voicers, I’m feeling inspired, and I thought I’d share. Ya know what 18 years in as a voice over actor feels like? It’s a blend of happiness, gratitude, accomplishment, and yet still always feels like I’m just getting warmed up. I love this business. I can’t get enough of auditioning, storytelling, understanding what my clients needs and creative vision are, and then getting the opportunity to collaborate with them and create together. I love building new relationships. I embrace the privilege to voice for brands both big and small. They’re all big to me.

Another thing I’d like to share with you… are some words from my Dad. He’s a successful entrepreneur, my hero, and has given me amazing advice throughout my career that has always served me well. “Stay hungry.” He says.  “Put in the consistent work every day.” Staying hungry to me means never getting complacent and thinking my current gigs will last forever. You have to put effort into going after new relationships, clients, agencies, etc… and make yourself known all the time. Doing the work to me means consistently honing my craft, auditioning, nurturing this career of mine with tender love and care… And I’ll add to my Dad’s great advice…

Momentum. When you stay hungry, and don’t give up on yourself, when you put in the work, and you start to see your efforts take shape it’ll light a fire in you that is hard to describe. The busier you are the busier you will become… It’s hard to stop momentum.  And why would you want to?!  I chipped away at my craft for two years before booking my first gig. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on myself.

Here’s to you… (I’m raising my coffee mug right now)!

Stay hungry, stay true to yourself, do the work, and keep that momentum going. If I can do this, you can do this.

A little Moats-ivation from someone who’s always cheering for you. 😉
