There’s plenty of opportunity at the Voice Actors Studio to take “ongoing” classes.  They’re how many times a week—twice?  You can fill your dance card each month.  And it’s good experience.  Time in the saddle, time on the mic, time listening to others make choices and time hearing coaches give directions.

But what about those speciality classes?  It’s not common to find a place like TVAS with lots of good energy and instructors from many walks of VO.  It’s even less common to be able to dive in to the nitty gritty.

You can now take an ongoing ACTING class, offered twice a week, too.

AND, over the past few months there have been specialty workshops on VO for kids, connecting with clients, storytelling, bookkeeping, using TwistedWave, all things tech, rates-quoting-billing, character voices, animation, acting, auto commercials, improv, video game VO, audiobooks, an animation table read, a producer’s showcase, a mic “shootout”…it’s a long list.

We offer all this so you can dip your toes into a whole bunch of VO genres over the course of a year.  Plus, you can set up private lessons with a particular instructor to go in depth into a topic at your own pace.

We even have two series of classes.  One is for audiobooks: Audiobooks 101, Audiobook Performance, and Audiobook Performance Plus, and the other for character voicing, with similar course names  (Character Voice 101, Character Voice Performance, Character Voice Performance Plus).  The first two in the series are limited to 12 students.  The last class in the series (Performance Plus) is both limited to 8 students and you must have taken either 101 or Performance to get into Performance Plus.

We occasionally bring in instructors from L.A. or have guests instructors via Skype.

So choose the specialty classes that fit your interests.  It’s your career path and you’re in charge of making the route.

Enjoy!
