The Voice Actor’s Studio’s Adopt-A-Family Program

November 14, 2017 By Melissa Moats Leave a Comment

Last year for the holidays, we adopted families whose lives were challenged by having a child with a severe illness. These parents were unable to provide basics for their children, due to medical expenses for treatments. So, Melissa rounded up the TVAS family, and we donated food (gift cards), clothing, toys, games, bikes, and pretty much anything a family could wish for, and delivered the gifts to the families and met the kids!

Stay tuned!  We plan to brighten another family’s holiday season this year. Click here for more info!

Blog Love from Mama VO: Giving Thanks

November 14, 2017 By Melissa Moats 3 Comments

Thank you.  Two very simple, feel-good words.  Expressing gratitude is a one of the most beautiful things there is.

I’d like to thank all of you for making our Voice Over Community so special.  So many new friendships have sparked at TVAS, and a few “VO-mances too!”  😉  Oh, and careers!?  Yes, so much talent has budded and bloomed right before our ears… All of the sharing, growing and giving…  It’s truly outstanding.

Thank you to our coaches for generously sharing your love, knowledge & passion. [Read more…] about Blog Love from Mama VO: Giving Thanks

There it is: YOU!  You have all the tools you need—maybe not completely trained, honed, and ready to use—but you’ve got them, and you can learn how to use them through practice, practice, practice.

But you also have all the tools and means to slow yourself down, get in your own way, and not allow yourself to shine. [Read more…] about The Biggest Resource/Biggest Obstacle

What Are You Thankful For?

November 14, 2017 By Sandra Segrest Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays that remind you of what’s top of mind in the food chain of Life to be thankful for: Family, good health, good friends, Cheetos. There’s another item I’d like to add to the list: Being a voice actor. In a small, quiet space, be it a closet, studio, or if on the road, a pillow fort in the backseat of a car, with our imaginations and beautiful voices, we get to create a vision from a script that someone entrusted us to bring to life. James Dean said “being an actor is the loneliest thing in the world. You are all alone with your concentration and imagination, and that’s all you have.” [Read more…] about What Are You Thankful For?

Joy’s Talent Spotlight: Brent Mukai

November 14, 2017 By Joy Kingston Leave a Comment

Hello fellow voicers! Say hi to one of the most hilarious guys you will ever meet, Brent Mukai. Brent has a BA in Theater and Film from UNLV. He has appeared in several movies and films along with Improv and Stand-Up performances here in Vegas. Most recently, Brent was the understudy for the lead role of Christian Grey in the musical Fifty Shades of Grey, in which he performed over 25 times.
